The staff was helpful and courteous at pickup and drop-off. When we picked up our first car, it wreaked of cigarettes, the agent was happy to upgrade us to another available car. It took loading and unloading onto 3 cars but we found one that didn’t have any major issues. Overall satisfied, just wish it didn’t take loading in and out of 3 cars with a family of four to find one that was acceptable. ***I did notice, most of the offending vehicles were from NY.***Reviewed 6 Aug 2024

There was a chunk of the tire missing when we went to pick it up. We drove 13hrs and the rotors and brakes were in terrible condition and the tires had no tread. The wheel would shake when trying to stop. Very upset budget couldn’t take the time to look over brakes and rotors before customers came to pick the car up. I had a drop-off time scheduled for 7 PM, and they failed to warn me that the drop-off location closed at 6 PM. When I called them, they informed me that if I didn't make it in by 6 PM and had to use the drop-off box to leave the car, I'd be charged another day. Therefore, at the last minute, I had to rush to get the car in before closing time because they failed to inform me of this information.Reviewed 8 May 2022

Pros:Drop off was easy.Cons:Pickup attendant seemed bothered we were there. The car had scuffs all down the side that were not disclosed before hand so we took pictures and went back inside and she just scribbled it down on a paper and handed it back to me. Cons:Broken ez-toll pass. Found that out 2 hours into my trip when I attempted to pay a toll. Budget told me to pay and kee my receipts. Well apparently you can't pay because the ez-pass was paying all the tolls. ]So even though I didn't open it it was still activated therefore I'm charged for the device everyday I had the rental. Calling my local budget and the 800 number was ABSOLUTELY no help at all. Second it rained...I pull off and water is running i to the car from the fron windshield. TOTALLY NOT WORTH $493.00 that I paid. However I had to get my daughter back to school t a certain time so I had to SUCK IT UP!!!Reviewed 25 Aug 2020

Pros:I never received a confirmation email and they charged me an extra $200 because THEY got my reservation wrong. I don’t know how to dispute this but it definitely sucks :/Cons:Customer service could’ve had more understanding, they could have tracked my reservation by name and not number (because I didn’t have a confirmation email they didn’t honor the correct reservation, only the incorrect reservation made over the phone by Jesse (agent on phone) and were so unkind on the phone I literally cried. Before the drop off location debacle, they didn’t even have my kind of car (economy) available at the location even though I booked beforehand so they charged me an extra $26/day to take the one car they did have available, but they said it was $25/day. And then the counter agent didn’t tell me the dropoff location was same as pickup. So when I reviewed my contract the next day and saw it was wrong, I had to call customer service, at which point they charged me a total of $345 for a reservation that was $48 when I walked in to get the car just 1 day before. It was a mess, I’m so stressed out from this, and not having a confirmation email REALLY contributed to that stress.Reviewed 8 Jun 2020
