Pros:Location was key for us on our trip because we were being hosted by a friend and her family who were locals. The location of the hotel is excellent, nearby a modern mall as well as a combination of modern and older shops. Also during the Christmas holiday when we visited, the street is very lively and festive (also makes for more more noise, but a colorful and unique experience of Pune).
Cons:Unfortunately you get what you pay for. The hotel quality is nearly on par with typical motels in the U.S. The staff are friendly but the cleanliness in general in the room is questionable, and there is a datedness to the furnishings. The bathtub was an old jacuzzi style tub, with visible staining around the half of the tub including the drain; there was an old slightly rattling ceiling fan in the room. Additionally there were mothballs in the closet, suggesting also the age of the place. Also, the bath towels were old and stiff, with a lingering smokey smell to them. No wash towels were provided and shampoo, bath gel bottles were not resupplied at all during the 3 nights we stayed. We stayed mainly for the location nearby our local hosts, so didn't really intend to stay in the hotel most of the time, which worked out better.
